January TBR

Happy New Year to all of you lovely readers out there! I don’t know about you guys but I have a good feeling about 2019. I’m so excited to dive right into my challenges that I’ve set for myself and to start, I’ve put together a TBR for the month of January.

I’m currently in the middle of Brandon Sanderson’s The Way of Kings so the first order of business is to finish the last +700 pages of that. I swear I’m enjoying the story so far but there’s something about these long books heavy on the world building aspect (that I love) that just seems to slow me down so much. I’ve been trying to get through this book since before October of 2018. Here’s hoping I can finally make some headway this month.

Then, once that is finished, I have a few other titles I’d like to get under my belt. Namely, Tess of the Road and the 6th volume of the Claymore manga that I got as a Christmas gift.

I’ve also been in contact with a really amazing friend on bookstagram (check her out @areadersbooks !) who I’ve done buddy reads with in the past. Last January, we read Eragon together and so we’ve been wanting to continue with the Inheritance Cycle. In addition to that we’ve talked about reading through the Throne of Glass books by Sarah J. Maas.

So my January TBR, in order of priority looks something like this:

  1. The Way of Kings
  2. Tess of the Road
  3. Claymore vol. 6
  4. Eragon*
  5. Throne of Glass*

*The last two books being maybes

In the past I’ve been pretty inconsistent about staying on track with TBRs but we’ll see how it goes this time around.

What are you planning to read in the month of January? What are you reading at the moment?
